How heat pumps work

Heat pumps work similarly to refrigerators. To generate heat, a heat pump gets energy from the ground or  the surrounding and converts it to heat for the house, to be used up in the house.

To generate heat, a heat pump extracts thermal energy from the air in the surrounding of your home and transfers it to a refrigeration coolant. Afterward, the coolant is compressed, which consequently causes an increase in the temperature. The coolant is then moved to the indoor unit of the heat pump, which then passes air over the hot coolant, causing an increase in its temperature to allow the call for temperature regulation inside the home.

When heat is needed, the heat pump will absorb heat from the surrounding by turning on the fan in the outdoor unit. This heat is carried by the refrigerant line to the indoor unit, which is then transferred to the air inside of your home through a fan inside the wall cassette.  To cool the house, a reverse process is required.
